Anthropocene Working Type
The project presented is a didactic elaboration created with Alessio D’Ellena (Superness) on type design at CFP Bauer, Milan. The course was conceived for twelve students of the advanced graphic design department. Every student had to select a group of terms (tags) related to the Anthropocene, creating a new typographic variable, formal style or method of editing the curves. Instead of reducing the noise of information by a “legible” typeface, students were asked to graphically mirror the complexity or unintelligibility of their categories and concepts using Bézier curves: prototyping a typeface.
